Environmental Consulting is a rapidly growing service that is in demand by very exciting and dynamic clients and Keystone Environmental is fast becoming the provider of choice in the BC market place. We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer for our Burnaby BC location.

The Keystone Environmental engineering team completes preliminary and detailed engineering projects in the practice areas of conventional and innovative contaminant remediation, industrial water and wastewater systems and environmental monitoring and protection. These projects range in scope from several thousand to multi million dollar capital works with operations measured in years to decades.

We have an immediate opportunity for a registered Professional Engineer, (P. Eng.), who has more than eight years’ experience in the execution of preliminary options evaluation, cost benefit analysis, preliminary and detail design of remedial and/or water/waste water systems. Important components of the position include familiarity with the preparation of tender documents, contract documents and specifications, and field and office engineering support during construction and commissioning. Your solid foundation in civil, mechanical, environmental or chemical engineering enables you to undertake projects and your diverse experience enables you to apply your technical knowledge to diverse and innovative special projects.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of

  • project and client management principles and ability to control budget and project deliverables on multi-million dollar projects. You will need to manage staff on a regular basis and potentially be a team leader managing staff workloads and deliverables on multiple simultaneous projects in various stages of completion.
  • Experience in large remedial cover projects at mine sites or landfills would be considered an asset. Knowledge of the BC Environmental Management Act and associated regulations is also beneficial.

You are comfortable talking with contractors, clients and regulators and have the ability to present technical topics in front of your peers. You also have the ability to assess, evaluate and incorporate technical requirements including input from external agencies and stakeholders, explain difficult issues and work to establish consensus and compliance.
