Michael is a senior environmental geoscientist with over 27 years of experience in environmental consulting in British Columbia, Yukon, Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Michael has completed a large number and variety of projects, including numerous Stage 1 and Stage 2 Preliminary Site Investigations (Phase 1 and 2 ESAs), Detailed Site Investigations (Phase 3 ESAs), remediation projects, spill responses, and human health and ecological risk assessments for both terrestrial and marine sites.
Michael’s projects have included both urban and remote sites including the Alaska Highway, isolated northern BC coastal island communities and isolated First Nations communities. He has also had experience with environmental permitting and approvals and construction environmental monitoring of large capital projects such as new marine container terminal and a hydroelectric dam upgrade. Michael also has experience working with First Nations in both consultation and provision of environmental technical training.
Michael has completed over 80 submissions for BC regulatory instruments including Certificates of Compliance, Determinations, Approvals-in-Principle and Contaminated Soil Relocation Agreements. He is a former member of the Society of Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals of BC (CSAP) Board of Directors, former Chair of the CSAP Performance Assessment Committee, a former member of the CSAP Professional Development Committee, a former member of the CSAP Technical Review Sub-Committee, and is also Performance Assessment Panel Member for CSAP. He also leads the CSAP regulatory exam development team.
Michael is also a PMI® Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
