Dr. Jamie Slogan manages a small group of biologists at Keystone Environmental that pride themselves on providing practical, knowledge-based solutions to a diverse array of environmental problems. Jamie has extensive experience and training as a senior marine, fisheries and vegetation ecologist with over 17 years of experience, including 12 years as an environmental consultant in Vancouver. Jamie has worked throughout BC, Yukon, NWT, Nunavut, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba leading environmental assessments and habitat restoration projects for government, port, mining, transportation, and infrastructure development projects. In addition to leading his team at Keystone, Dr. Jamie Slogan instructs courses in Ecological Restoration and supervises graduate students at Simon Fraser University (SFU) and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).
Dr. Jamie Slogan completed his Ph.D. in marine restoration ecology in 2015 and for the past 10 years has led and designed numerous small and large-scale offsetting projects including Roberts Bank Terminal 2, the largest marine and estuarine environmental assessment and offsetting program ever undertaken in Canada. This work included managing the first ever use of an ecosystem model to account for potential changes to productivity to a RAMSAR designated estuary as part of an environmental assessment. Jamie prides himself on finding the most efficient and feasible approach by using innovative methods to solve the many complex issues that present themselves during environmental assessments and offsetting projects.
